Valsartan is a prescription medicine called an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). Valsartan is used in adults to lower high blood pressure.

Directions
Take Valsartan exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor may change your dose if needed.
For treatment of high blood pressure, take Valsartan once a day, at the same time each day.
Valsartan can be taken with or without food.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to your next dose, do not take the missed dose. Just take the next dose at your regular time.
If you take too much Valsartan, call your doctor or Poison Control Center, or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.

Side Effects
Valsartan side effects: Valsartan side effects that may occur include headache, fatigue, lightheadedness, or dizziness. If Valsartan side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience Valsartan side effects like fainting, rash or itching, muscle pain or cramps, vomiting, restlessness, dry mouth, unusual thirst, unusual tiredness or weakness, rapid or irregular heartbeat, or drowsiness. If you notice other Valsartan side effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
