Optimmune (Cyclosporin) is an ophthalmic medication used to treat keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) or dry eye in dogs. Cyclosporin eye drop also effectively treats chronic recurrent conjunctivitis resulting from auto-immune eye disease. The active ingredient in Optimmune is Cyclosporin. Cyclosporin belongs to the class of drugs called immunomodulators. It reduces inflammation, increases tear production, and helps to minimize damage to the tear glands. It is essential to know that tears are important for keeping a dog's eyes healthy and providing lubrication and nourishment.
