Product Details

Neo Medrol (Neomycin and Methylprednisolone) is an antibacterial medication used to control acne in adolescents and young adults, and is sometimes used to treat seborrheic dermatitis and acne rosacea. Neo Medrol contains two medications, Neomycin and Methylprednisolone. Neomycin is an antibiotic that helps kill the bacteria that may cause or aggravate acne. Methylprednisolone is an anti-inflammatory that helps to reduce the redness and swelling associated with acne.

Common side effects of Neo Medrol include increased redness or scaling of the skin sores, or skin rash. Stop using this medication and contact your doctor if you notice more serious side effects such as blood blisters on the skin, severe burning or itching of the skin, lack of healing of the skin condition, numbness in the fingers, painful, red or itchy, pus-containing blisters in hair follicles, raised, dark-red, wart-like spots on the skin, skin infection, or thinning of the skin. If you notice any signs of an allergic reaction, seek emergency medical attention.

You should not use Neo Medrol if you are allergic to neomycin or methylprednisolone, or if you have chickenpox, herpes simplex, tuberculosis of the skin, vaccinia, or other skin infections that do not respond to neomycin. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding to discuss any possible risks.
