Product Details

Patanase Nasal Spray (Olapatadine) is a steroid-free prescription antihistamine nasal spray that is used to fight the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis also known as hay fever in patients over six years old. Olapatadine works by blocking certain natural substances called histamines that are responsible for allergic symptoms.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects may include a bitter taste in the mouth, cough, drowsiness, dry mouth, sneezing, sore throat, runny nose. The serious side effects may include:
• Burning or pain when you urinate;
• Fever;
• Nosebleed;
• Sores inside your nose

You should not use Patanase if you are allergic to Olopatadine or if you have any other allergies. Before you start using this medication, inform your doctor about all the medications you are taking including OTC and herbal medications. This medication may make you drowsy. Do not drive or do any activity that requires you to be alert. Limit alcoholic beverages. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk. Inform your doctor if you are taking other medications that cause drowsiness such as antihistamines, anti-seizure drugs, medicine for sleep or anxiety, muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers, psychiatric medicines such as chlorpromazine, risperidone, amitriptyline, trazadone.
