Product Details

Tindamax (Tinidazole) is used for the treatment of certain infections caused by bacteria, such as infection of the intestines or vagina. It may also be used to treat certain sexually transmitted infections and certain types of parasite infections. Tinidazole belongs to a class of antibiotics known as nitroimidazoles. It is an antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria and protozoa. Tindamax will only treat bacterial and protozoal infections. This medication does not work for virus infections. Tinidazole works best when the amount of medication in your body is kept at a constant level. If you are going to take this medication for more than one day, it should be taken at the same time each day.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects include bitter/metallic taste in the mouth, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, loss of appetite, nausea, upset stomach, vomiting. The serious side effects may include:
• Fast/irregular/pounding heartbeat;
• Numbness/tingling in the arms/legs;
• Rash/itching or swelling;
• Severe dizziness;
• Signs of a new infection (fever, persistent sore throat, seizures);
• Trouble breathing

You should not take Tindamax if you are allergic to Tinidazole or Metronidazole or if you are in the first three months of pregnancy. Before you start using this medication, inform your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. This medication may make you dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive or do any activity that requires you to be alert. You should not drink alcoholic beverages while taking this medication and for at least three days after your last dose. This medication passes into breast milk and could have affect a nursing infant. You should not breast-feed while using this medication and for at least three days after finishing this medication. If you are being treated for trichomoniasis, you should avoid sexual intercourse during treatment.
