Usage

Advair contains two active ingredients: Fluticasone and Salmeterol. Fluticasone belongs to the group of drugs called steroids, and it works by stopping the substances in the body from being released that cause inflammation. Salmeterol is a bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles in the airways. The two medications work together to help you breathe more easily. Advair is not a rescue inhaler; it should not be used to treat sudden and severe asthma symptoms. The standard dose for adults using Advair Diskus is one puff twice per day, about 12 hours apart. You should see an improvement in asthma control within 30 minutes of beginning treatment, but the full benefits may take one week or longer after starting treatment.
