Usage

Aklief Cream (Trifarotene) is a prescription topical medication used to treat acne vulgaris in people 9 years of age and older. Trifarotene belongs to a class of medications called retinoids. It works by affecting the growth of cells and decreasing swelling and inflammation. Aklief cream may decrease the number and severity of acne pimples and speed up healing of pimples that do develop.

The most common side effects of Aklief Cream include itching and sunburn. Aklief cream may cause some serious side effects such as local skin irritation. It is most likely to happen during the first four weeks of treatment. The signs and symptoms of local skin reactions include:
• Dryness;
• Redness;
• Scaling;
• Stinging or burning

Warnings and Interactions

You should not use Aklief Cream if you are allergic to Trifarotene or to Vitamin A related products such as tretinoin. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history especially if you:

If you have to go outside, use sunscreen with a SPF of 15 or more and wear protective clothing to cover the treated areas. Tell your doctor about all the medications you use including prescription, OTC, herbal products, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Trifarotene and other medications. Aklief Cream should not be used in children under the age of 9 years old.
