The active ingredients in Auvelity are Bupropion Hydrochloride and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide. Auvelity belongs to the class of drugs called Dopamine/Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (NMDA Antagonists). The exact mechanism of action of Auvelity in the treatment of MDD is unclear. However, the active ingredients work synergistically to restore the brain's balance of certain dopamine and norepinephrine. Auvelity may be used for other conditions not mentioned in this guide.

Warnings and Interactions

Before you start using Auvelity medicine, you should inform your doctor if you are taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), recently stopped taking MAOI in the last 14 days, or are being treated with the antibiotic linezolid or intravenous methylene blue. It is advisable not to take MAOI (such as selegiline) until you have stopped taking Auvelity for at least 14 days. Auvelity is a table, and it should be taken orally. Swallow tablets whole; do not crush, divide, or chew. One tablet once daily in the morning for three days, then increase to the maximum recommended dosage of one tablet twice daily, separated by at least 8 hours. Do not take more than 2 Auvelity tablets in 24 hours. Follow your doctor's prescription label carefully. Do not increase your dosage without your doctor's approval. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor. Your condition may become worse when this drug is suddenly stopped. Inform your doctor if there is no improvement in your condition.
