Usage

Curanail (Amorolfine) is a prescription medication used to treat mild fungal nail infections. A mild fungal nail infection may not cause symptoms and, in some cases, may cause a white or yellow-brown spot under the tip of the nail. Without proper treatment, the infection can spread and cause more serious symptoms. The active ingredient in Curanail is Amorolfine. Amorolfine belongs to the class of medication called antifungals. It works by killing the fungi causing the infection.

Stop using Curanail and contact your doctor immediately if you have any of the following serious side effects such as:

Warnings and Interactions

Curanail is a nail lacquer that should be applied to the nail as your doctor directs. Use Curanail only if you have one or two nails affected and if the upper half or sides of the nails are infected. Do not take Curanail by mouth. If you accidentally swallow the nail lacquer, seek immediate medical attention. Protect your healthy nails before applying the lacquer to avoid spreading the infection. Clean the infected nail surface with a cotton swab. Use the applicator to apply the lacquer evenly over the entire surface of the affected nail. Allow it to dry for about 3 minutes. Clean the applicator after each use to avoid spreading the infection. Keep using the nail lacquer every week until the infection has cleared and healthy nails have grown back. This usually takes six months for fingernails and 9 to 12 months for toenails. Inform your doctor if the nail is still infected. Use the nail lacquer every week. Otherwise, the treatment will not work as well as expected, and the fungus could become resistant to the nail lacquer. For subsequent use, remove the old lacquer and any nail varnish before applying the lacquer again. Do not use artificial nails while using Curanail. You can use cosmetic varnish. However, wait at least 10 minutes after applying Curanail before painting your nails. This medication contains alcohol, which is flammable. Do not smoke when applying Curanail or apply near an open flame.

Before you start using Curanail, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Become pregnant or nursing a child;
• Have a weak immune system;
• Have dark stripes running down the nail;
• Have diabetes;
• Have moderately or severely damaged or infected nails;
• Have more than two infected nails in total;
• Have poor blood circulation in your hands or feet

Inform your doctor about all your medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is unknown if Curanail will harm your unborn baby. It is unknown if Amorolfine passes into breast milk or if it may harm a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding. There may be a drug interaction between Amorolfine and other drugs.
