Very rarely, Dexferrum (Iron Dextran) can cause fatal allergic reactions (loss of consciousness, collapse, difficulty breathing, hives, swelling, or convulsions) and very low blood pressure. It is very important that Dexferrum (Iron Dextran) be administered under the supervision of a health care professional.
