Hygroton (Chlorthalidone) is a prescription medication that is categorized as a thiazide diuretic (water pill). This medication helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention. Therefore, Hygroton is used to treat edema (fluid retention) in people with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, kidney diseases, or edema caused by taking steroids or estrogen. • Symptoms of dehydration or mineral loss (confusion, dry mouth, weakness);
• Vision changes or eye pain

Warnings and Interactions

You should not take Hygroton if you are allergic to chlorthalidone or to other sulfa drugs.
