K-Dur is for patients suffering from low potassium levels in the blood. It contains potassium chloride, a form of potassium. Potassium is a mineral found in many of the foods that we eat every day and it is essential for many bodily functions, especially your heartbeat. It is prescribed to treat and prevent low potassium levels in the blood, which is called hypokalemia. Hypokalemia can lead to many illnesses, and may becaused by various diseases or long bouts of sickness with diarrhea or vomiting. Side Effects

The possible side effects include:
• Mild nausea, upset stomach, mild/occasional diarrhea;
• Tingling in the hands and feet;

More serious side effects may include:
• Confusion, anxiety, feeling faint;
• Extreme thirst, increased urination, stomach pain, ongoing diarrhea or vomiting;
• Leg discomfort, coughing blood, black or tarry stools;
• Uneven heartbeat, muscle weakness, limp feeling, numbness or tingling;
