Lokelma (Sodium Zirconium Cyclosilicate) is a prescription medication used to treat high potassium levels (hyperkalemia) in the body. The active substance in Lokelma is Sodium Zirconium Cyclosilicate. Sodium. Zirconium Cyclosilicate belongs to the group of medications called potassium binders. It works directly in the intestines by lowering the amount of potassium that is absorbed into the body from food. Treating hyperkalemia with Lokelma prevents abnormal rhythm of the heart, tingling sensation, and severe constipation.
