Oxistat (Oxiconazole Nitrate) is a topical prescription medication used to treat fungal infections such as Athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. It is also effective as a topical treatment for skin infections such as tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis caused by fungi. The active ingredient in Oxistat is Oxiconazole Nitrate. Oxiconazole Nitrate belongs to the class of drugs called topical antifungal (azole antifungal). It works by altering cellular membranes, resulting in increased membrane permeability, secondary metabolic effects, and preventing the fungus's growth. Oxistat does not work for bacterial and viral infections.

Oxistat creams are for topical external use and are not intended for eyes or intravaginal administration. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, and other mucous membranes. Hair may be washed as usual but not immediately after applying the medication. You should consult your doctor if there are no positive changes in your symptoms despite compliance with your Oxistat topical cream.
