Dosage

The brand Papaverine HCl Injection is available in the strength of 32.5 mg/ml (10 x 2 ml) per pack.

Usage

Papaverine HCL Injection (Papaverine hydrochloride injection) is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction. The active ingredient in Papaverine HCL Injection is Papaverine. Papaverine belongs to the group of medicines called vasodilators. It works by causing blood vessels to expand, thereby increasing blood flow. When papaverine is injected into the penis (intracavernosal), it increases blood flow to the penis, which results in an erection. Our customers may also buy Levitra and other ED medications through our CIPA approved Pharmacy.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Papaverine HCL Injection are bruising or bleeding at the injection site, dizziness, headache or flushing, mild discomfort in the penis during injection, blood appearing at the end of the penis, tingling at the tip of the penis, and difficulty in ejaculating.

Stop using Papaverine HCL Injection and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Bending of the penis;
• Erection that lasts longer than 4 hours;
• Fibrosis (lumps) in the penis;
• Pain or burning along the penis;
• Painful erection;
• Redness, swelling, blister, or ulcer at the injection site;
• Swelling of the penis or foreskin

Warnings and Interactions

You may receive this injection with or without eating food. A doctor should administer the injection. You should not self-administer this medication. Based on your medical condition, your doctor will decide how long you need to take Papaverine Hydrochloride Injection. Do not increase the dosage of your medicine or use it more frequently than your doctor has instructed. Papaverine is injected directly into the base of the penis on the left or right-hand side. It is given as a slow injection over 1 to 2 minutes. After you have completed the injection, put pressure on the place of injection to prevent bruising. Then massage your penis as instructed by your doctor. This helps the medicine spread to all parts of the penis so it will work better. Papaverine typically begins to work in about 10 minutes, and the erection may persist for several hours.

It would be best to avoid consuming alcohol as it might cause increased dizziness. In addition, Papaverine Hydrochloride Injection should not be given to children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Call your doctor if there is no significant improvement in your symptoms.

Before you start receiving Papaverine HCL Injection, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• An implant in your penis;
• Any deformities of the penis;
• Abnormal thickening of the tissue of the penis;
• Any condition where sexual activity is inadvisable;
• Cancer of the blood, such as leukemia;
• Heart conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, myocardial infarction, heart attack, and heart rhythm disorders;
• Kidney disease;
• Liver disease

Tell your doctor about all the medications you use, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Papaverine Hydrochloride Injecting is not for pregnant women, especially if you are treating heart-related conditions. Consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding. Your doctor will decide if Papaverine Hydrochloride Injection can be taken by breastfeeding mothers or not. There may be a drug interaction between Papaverine HCL Injection and other drugs such as anti-Parkinson's (levodopa), smoking cessation agent (nicotine), opioid analgesic (morphine), calcium antagonists, hypotensive agents, and CNS depressants.
