Product Details

Sinequan (Doxepin) is an RX medication that is used to treat mental or mood problems such as depression and anxiety. Doxepin belongs to a class of medications called tricyclic antidepressants. This medication may help improve mood and feelings of well-being, relieve anxiety and tension. It may also help you to sleep better and increase your energy level. Doxepin works by blocking the effects of histamine in the brain. It may take up to three weeks before you feel the full effects of this medication.

Doxepin Side Effects and Precautions

The common Doxepin side effects may include blurred vision, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, trouble urinating. The serious side effects may include:
• Eye pain/swelling/redness;
• Fainting;
• Fast/irregular heartbeat;
• Seizures;
• Vision changes

You should not take Doxepin if you are allergic to Sinequan or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical conditions and about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. The drug may make you dizzy or cause blurred vision. You should not drive or do any activity that requires you to be alert. If you have diabetes, this medication may make it harder to control your blood sugar levels. This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. This medication passes into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. There are other medications that may interact with Doxepin such as alfuzosin, bupropion, divalproex, duloxetine, paroxetine, quinine, tramadol, warfarin, etc.
