Tetracycline can cause permanent tooth discoloration and also affect a child’s growth. It should not be used in children younger than 8 years old. Tetracycline should not be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It can pass into breastmilk and may affect bone and tooth development in infants.

Talk to your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, and herbal medications. Also tell them about any vitamins and supplements you take. There may be a drug interaction between Tetracycline and other medications. Drink a full glass of water with each dose of tetracycline.
