Acular Information

Acular Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Acular Eye Drops from Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, manufactured by Allergan. The generic Ketorolac Eye Drop is available from Canada by a different manufacturer. Our customers may also purchase other Anti-Inflammatory medications such as Toradol and Colchicine. For more information and further assistance, please call Customer Service at 1866.920.3784.

Dosage

The Acular and its generic Ketorolac are available in the strength of 0.5 %/10 ml and 0.5 %/5 ml eye drops.

Usage

Acular (Ketorolac) is a prescription eye drop used to relieve eye itching caused by seasonal allergies. It is also used for prophylaxis treatment, inflammation reduction, and associated symptoms after cataract surgery or corneal refractive surgery. The active ingredient in the Acular eye drop is Ketorolac. Ketorolac belongs to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug class (ophthalmic). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Acular are transient ocular burning or stinging sensation after applying the drops, watery eyes, redness of the eyes, and blurred vision

Stop using Acular and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• A wound in the eyes that will not heal;
• Bleeding within the eyes;
• Crusting or drainage from your eyes;
• Severe burning, stinging, or itching of your eyes;
• Severe eye pain, redness, or continuous tearing;
• Vision changes increased sensitivity to light;
• White patches on your eyes

Warnings and Interactions

Before applying Acular eye drops, you should inform your doctor or ophthalmologist if you are allergic to Acular or any other NSAIDs or ophthalmic medication. Acular comes as a topical eye drop; you should apply it to the affected eye (s) as your doctor directs. You should maintain a sterile process of applying the eye drops by washing your hands first. Do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eyes or any other surface to avoid contamination. You should not apply Acular eye drops wearing a contact lens. Tilt your head, look upward, and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Hold the dropper directly over your eye and place one drop into the eyes. Look downward and gently close your eyes for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at the corner of your eye (near the nose) and apply gentle pressure. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink, and do not rub your eye. Repeat these steps for your other eye if so directed. Do not use the eye drops if the liquid has changed colors or has particles in it. Visit your doctor if there are no changes in your symptoms, despite the regular use of Acular eye drops to relieve itching or ocular pain due to seasonal allergies.

Before you start using Acular, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• Bleeding disorders;
• Dry eye syndrome;
• Diabetes mellitus;
• Glaucoma;
• Kidney disease;
• Liver disease

Tell your doctor about all the medications you use, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to get pregnant while using Acular eye drops for your itching eyes. Acular eye drops should be used during pregnancy when prescribed by your doctor. It would be best if you discussed the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk, but it is unlikely to harm a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding. There may be a drug interaction between Acular (Ketorolac Eye Drops) and other drugs such as ibuprofen, diclofenac aspirin, clopidogrel, and warfarin.
