Daliresp (Roflumilast) is a prescription medication that is used to control and prevent the symptoms of wheezing and shortness of breath that is caused by COPD. Daliresp is not a bronchodilator. This medication is not used for the treatment of a bronchospasm attack that has already begun. Roflumilast works by reducing the irritation and swelling of the airways. Daliresp should be used regularly to be effective. It does not work right away so this is not used to relieve sudden shortness of breath or wheezing. You should use your quick relief inhaler such as Albuterol for sudden breathing problems.
