Product Details

Duaklir Genuair (Aclidinium Bromide /Formoterol Fumarate Dihydrate) is a medicine used to relieve the symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults. COPD is a long-term disease in which the airways and air sacs inside the lungs become damaged or blocked, leading to difficulty breathing. Duaklir Genuair is used as a long-term maintenance treatment. Duaklir contains two medications, Aclidinium Bromide and Formoterol Fumarate Dihydrate. Aclidinium is an anticholinergic bronchodilator that works by targeting certain receptors in the muscles of the airways and causes the muscles to relax. Formoterol works by targeting different receptors in the muscles of the airways in order to relax them, and together the two medications work to relax the airways. This can lead to overall easier breathing, less frequent and less severe bronchospasm attacks, and reduction of wheezing and coughing.

Common side effects of Duaklir Genuair include cough, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, irritation of nose or throat, mouth inflammation, nausea, tremors, or hoarseness. Stop taking this medication and contact your doctor if you notice more serious side effects such as agitation, anxiety, flu-like symptoms, irregular heartbeats, signs of high blood pressure, signs of high blood sugar, signs of low potassium, signs of a urinary tract infection, throat pain, or swelling of the hands or feet. If you notice any serious side effects or signs of an allergic reaction, seek emergency medical attention.

You should not use Duaklir Genuair if you are allergic to Aclidinium, Formoterol, or any other ingredients of this medication. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding in order to discuss any possible risks. This medication is not a rescue medication, and must be used regularly to see results. If you are having a bronchospasm attack, use the appropriate medication.

Questions and Answers

1. How long does Duaklir Genuair take to start working?
Answer: Duaklir Genuair should start to show results after the first dose, with the effects lasting 12 hours. This medication needs regular use to work. This medication is also not a rescue inhaler, and will not act fast enough to help a current bronchospasm attack.

2. How should I use this medication?
Answer: Duaklir Genuar is available as an inhalation powder in a portable inhaler device. The recommended dose is one inhalation twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.
