Product Details

Dulera (Formoterol/Mometasone) is an inhaler with a combination of formoterol and mometasone that is used to control and prevent the symptoms caused by asthma. Mometasone belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids and it works by reducing the irritation and swelling of the airways. Formoterol belongs to the class of drugs known as long-acting beta agonists and it works by opening airways in the lungs to make breathing easier. Dulera should not be used to treat an asthma or bronchospasm attack.

Dulera Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects may include dry mouth, hoarseness, stuffy nose and throat irritation. The serious side effects may include:
• Chest pain;
• Fainting;
• Fast or irregular heartbeat;
• Mental or mood changes;
• Muscle cramps;
• Increased thirst or urination;
• Severe dizziness;
• Shaking tremors;
• Vision problems

You should not use Dulera if you are allergic to Formoterol or Mometasone or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. Check your blood pressure regularly because this medication may raise your blood pressure. Inform your doctor right away if you develop unusual or extreme tiredness or weight loss. Dulera should not be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. There may be an interaction between Dulera and other medications such as ketoconazole, ritonavir, lopinavir, etc.
