Usage

Efudex Cream (Fluorouracil) is a topical cream that treats pre-cancerous an cancerous skin growth. It is used in the treatment of overgrowth skin (actinic or solar keratosis) and superficial basal cell carcinoma. The active ingredient in this medication is fluorouracil belongs to a class of medications known as anti-metabolites. It works by blocking the growth of abnormal cells that cause the skin condition. This prevents scaly overgrowth of the skin.

Efudex Cream may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid sun exposure or sunlamps, wind, and cold as these may cause more irritation. There may be a drug interaction between Fluorouracil Cream and other medications especially gemcitabine, leucovorin, phenytoin, warfarin, etc. Consult your doctor if you are breast-feeding.
