Usage

Frova (Frovatriptan) is a medication that is prescribed for the treatment of migraine headaches with or without aura in adults. Frovatriptan belongs to a group of medications known as 5-hydroxytryptamine agonists also called triptans. Migraine headaches are caused by dilated blood vessels inside the head. Frovatriptan works by narrowing these blood vessels which relieves migraine headaches and other migraine symptoms such as nausea, sensitivity to light and sound. This medication is not a prophylactic therapy, nor does it reduce the frequency of migraine attacks.

Side Effects

The possible Frova side effects include dizziness, dry mouth, feelings of tingling, numbness, prickling or heat, or tiredness. Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience severe side effects such as:

• Blue fingers, toes or nails;
• Chest pain or tightness;
• Cold hands or feet;
• Fainting;

You should not take Frova if you are allergic to Frovatriptan or to any of the ingredients in this medication or if you have:

• Severe liver disease
