Product Details

Hemeboost is a type of iron and this medication is used to treat iron deficiency. Ordinarily, people will get iron from the foods they consume, which then becomes part of their blood. In people with iron deficiency, their hemoglobin or myoglobin iron levels are low. Hemeboost is Halal certified by “Canadian halal food certifying agency”.

The common side effects of Hemeboost include: upset stomach, gas, diarrhea, constipation, reddish-brown urine or stools.

The more serious side effects may include:

• Signs of allergic reaction:
o Difficulty breathing
o Hives
o Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat


You should not take Hemeboost if you are allergic to Heme Iron Polypeptide, or if you have iron overload disorder, or are allergic to meat products. Before you start taking Hemeboost, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you currently take including OTC and herbal medications. Tell your doctor if you are nursing or pregnant, as your dosages may need to be adjusted during this time. Do not give Hemeboost to children without medical advice. Be sure to take Hemeboost exactly as your doctor describes for you. An overdose of iron can be fatal, especially for young children. Take this medication with a full glass of water and do not lie down for the first 30-minutes after consuming. Store away from moisture and heat. There can be interactions between Hemeboost and other medications. Talk to your doctor before you use other medications while on Hemeboost.

1. Can children take Hemeboost?
Answer: Iron overdose is fatal, especially to young children. It is best to avoid giving children this medication without direct doctor supervision.

2. I’m allergic to meat products. Can I still take Hemeboost?
Answer: No, Hemeboost is made from animal hemoglobin. You should avoid this form of iron supplement if you are allergic to meat products or if you don’t consume meat products in your diet.

3. What happens if I miss a dose?
Answer: Take your missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s getting close to your next dose time, skip the missed one and take only one dose as normal. Do not take extra medication to make up for any missed doses.
