Linzess (linaclotide) is a prescription medication that used for the treatment of certain types of bowel problems such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and chronic idiopathic. Linaclotide works by increasing fluid in your intestines which can soften stools and stimulate bowel movements. This medication may improve stool texture and lessen symptoms such as bloating, abdominal pain or discomfort and straining. This medication should not be given to children younger than 6 years old.

The serious Linzess side effects may include severe diarrhea. The common side effects may include:

• Diarrhea;
• Gas;
• Stomach or abdominal discomfort

You should not use Linzess if you are allergic to Linaclotide or if you have any other allergies.
