Usage

Mepron (Atovaquone) is a prescription medicine used to treat pneumonia (especially pneumocystis jiroveci, a type of pneumonia most likely to affect people with human immunodeficiency virus) in teenagers and adults. The active ingredient in Mepron suspension is Atovaquone. Atovaquone belongs to the class of medications called antiprotozoal agents. It works by stopping the growth and reproduction of certain types of protozoa that can cause pneumonia.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Mepron are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fever, headache, diarrhea, dyspnea, rhinitis, and weakness.
