Razadyne ER (Galantamine ER) is a prescription medication used to treat mild to moderate confusion (dementia) related to Alzheimer’s disease. This disease is a brain disorder that gets worse over time. This drug does not cure Alzheimer’s disease, but it may improve memory, awareness, and the ability to perform daily functions. The active substance in Razadyne ER is Galantamine ER. Galantamine ER belongs to a class of medication called Cholinesterase inhibitors. It works by increasing the amount of a natural substance in the brain called acetylcholine. This substance is needed for processes of memory, thinking, and reasoning. Increasing the acetylcholine levels in the body can improve the ability to think and remember.
