Usage

Vectical (Calcitriol) is a prescription medication used to treat mild to moderate plaque psoriasis. Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes a rash with itchy and scaly patches. You may experience this condition on your knees, elbows, trunk, and scalp. The active ingredient in Vectical is Calcitriol. Calcitriol belongs to a class of drugs called vitamin D analogs. It works by stopping the production of extra skin cells that may build up and form scales and patches on the skin. Vectical only treats mild to moderate psoriasis. It is not for treating severe forms of psoriasis present with pus, skin peeling, or severe redness.

The common side effects of Vectical are tiredness, muscle weakness, and itching.

Stop using Vectical and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:

• Have high or low blood levels of calcium

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. The safety of Vectical in pregnancy has not been established. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed.
