Usage

Xopenex (Levalbuterol) is a prescription medication used for the treatment and prevention of bronchospasm, a symptoms of respiratory disorders such as bronchitis, asthma, and emphysema. Levalbuterol belongs to the group of drugs called bronchodilators. It works by relaxing the muscles surrounding the airways, which helps to improve breathing by reducing shortness of breath. It comes as a liquid that must be taken using a nebulizer. Your doctor may recommend Xopenex (Levalbuterol) for other purposes not listed.

Side Effects

The possible Xopenex side effects include: diarrhea, dizziness, headache, fast heart rate, nausea, running nose, sore throat, and upset stomach. Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following serious side effects occur:
• An allergic reaction (rash, itching, severe dizziness, trouble breathing);

Xopenex should be used in adults and children over 4 years old. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
