Usage

Cotazym (Lipase/Protease/Amylase) is a prescription medication used when the pancreas cannot make or does not release enough digestive enzymes into the gut to digest the food. The drug may also be used for indigestion or as a supplement. It is also used as replacement therapy for people with chronic pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis, cancer of the pancreas, or after surgery on the pancreas or gut. The active ingredients in Cotazym are Lipase, Protease, and Amylase. Lipase, Protease, and Amylase belong to a class of drugs called digestive enzymes. They work by supplementing the natural substances the body needs to help break down and digest food, such as fat, protein, and sugar.
