Product Details

Lolo is a birth control pill and is used to prevent pregnancy. It is a combination oral contraceptive containing two sex hormones: the progestin known as norethindrone acetate and the estrogen called as ethinyl estradiol. Lolo has been shown to be effective in preventing pregnancy when taken as prescribed by the doctor. This combination pill works in two ways: it inhibits the monthly release of an egg by the ovaries and changes the mucus produced by the cervix which slows the movement of the sperm through mucus and through the uterus. Lolo should be used only under the supervision of a doctor, with regular follow-up to identify side effects associated with its use. Your visits may include a blood pressure check, a breast exam and a pelvic exam, including a Pap smear.

Less serious side effects of Lolo may include headache nausea, irregular menstrual bleeding, breast tenderness, painful menstrual cramps, weight change, acne, mood swings. Stop using Lolo and contact your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

• Sharp chest pain
• Shortness of breath
• Coughing of blood
• Calf pain
• Sudden partial or complete loss of vision
• Breast lumps
• Severe pain or tenderness in the stomach area
• Difficulty in sleeping
• Lack of energy
• Fatigue
• Jaundice
• Unusual swelling of extremities

The Lolo pill comes in 24 blue combination pills to be taken for 24 days, followed by 2 white estrogen-only pills, followed by 2 lilac placebo pills that do not contain any hormone. Take one pill every day at the same time for 28 days. Begin a new pack next day. Do not skip pills even if you are spotting or bleeding between monthly periods or have nausea. Do not skip pills even if you do not have sex very often.
