Usage

Lynparza (Olaparib) is a prescription medication used to treat:
• Metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body before or after prior chemotherapy or hormonal treatment.
• Ovarian cancer, fallopion tube cancer, or peritoneal cancer in women with a certain abnormal inherited gene.
• Pancreatic cancer in patients with a certain abnormal inherited gene;
• Prostate cancer with certain inherited or acquired abnormal genes

Lynparza is sometimes used only if your cancer has a specific genetic marker (an abnormal "BCRA" or "HRR" gene). Olaparib is a poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor. This medication works by interfering with the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Lynparza may include altered sense of taste;
• Cough or shortness of breath;
• Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, upper stomach pain;
• Feeling weak, tired or dizzy;
• Headache;
• Indigestion, heartburn, loss of appetite;
• Painful urination

Tell your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Lynparza and other medications. Olaparib can harm and unborn baby or cause a miscarriage if the mother or the father is using this medication. Tell your doctor right away if you get pregnant while the mother or father is using this medication. Do not breastfeed while using this medication and for at least one month after your last dose.
