By doing so, Arimidex may slow the growth of certain types of breast tumors that require estrogen to grow in the body. This medication can be taken with or without food, usually once a day. Take this medication exactly as prescribed. Follow all directions on the prescription label and any medication guides if provided. The dose may be increased or decreased based on your response.
