Product Details
Madopar (Levodopa/Benserazide) is a combination prescription medication that is used to treat Parkinson’s disease. The Levodopa changes to dopamine in your body. Dopamine is the active ingredient in Levodopa. Dopamine is needed in the brain to help Parkinson’s disease. The Benserazide allows more of the Levodopa that is taken to get into the brain before it is changed into dopamine.

Side Effects and Precautions
The serious side effects may include an allergic reaction (rash, feeling itchy), bleeding in the stomach or intestine, low levels of white blood cells, low levels of red blood cells, uneven heartbeat. The common side effects may include:
• Changes in your blood or liver;
• Change in taste;
• Feeling dizzy;
• Having difficulty sleeping;
• Sweating;
• Unusual movements of different parts of the body which can’t be controlled

You should not take Madopar if you are allergic to Levodopa and Benserazide or any of the other ingredients of Madopar. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical conditions and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. This medication may cause drowsiness. This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breast-feeding a baby. Limit alcohol intake while taking this medication.
