Pepcid Information
Pepcid (Femotidine) is a histamine-2 blocker, which works as it is able to decrease the levels of acid, which your stomach can produce. The medication is used commonly today to help both treat and prevent ulcers within the stomach or the intestines. It can also be used to help treat conditions which mean that the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It can also help to treat the effects of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions which may cause severe heartburn. You should not use this medication if you are known to be allergic to any of the active ingredients used during manufactures, as this may cause a severe allergic reaction within your body. Pepcid is available in generic form only.
