Vimovo (Naproxen/Esomeprazole) is a combination prescription medicine used to treat the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis and to decrease the risk of developing stomach ulcers for people at risk due to NSAIDs. Vimovo is a combination of two drugs, Esomeprazole and Naproxen. Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor and reduces stomach pain by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Naproxen belongs to the NSAIDs class of medications, and it works by blocking substances causing inflammation, fevers, and pain.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Vimovo are constipation, stomach pain, headache, fatigue, increased sweating, nausea, and diarrhea.

Stop using Vimovo and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Allergic reactions;
• Breathing difficulties;

• Face or joint swelling;
• Muscle spasms;

Do not use or drive machine after using Vimovo, as you may experience dizziness or blurred vision. Vimovo is not recommended for use in children or adolescents younger than 18. Before you start using Vimovo, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:

• Congestive heart failure and edema;

• High cholesterol;

• Skin reactions to similar medicines;
