Product Details

Xeljanz (Tofacitinib) is a prescription medication that is used for the treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults who have tried to use Methotrexate without successful treatment of symptoms. Tofacitinib works by blocking the enzymes in the body that affect the function of the immune system. This medication helps to decrease pain, tenderness and swelling in the joints.

The common side effects may include cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing or sore throat, diarrhea and headache. You should stop using this medication and call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Fast heartbeat;
• Persistent nausea or vomiting;
• Severe stomach or abdominal pain;
• Shortness of breath;
• Signs of liver disease such as dark urine, yellowing eyes or skin;
• Unusual tiredness

You should not use Xeljanz if you are allergic to Tofacitinib or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. You should not have immunizations or vaccinations without the consent of your doctor. This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. There may be a drug interaction between Xeljanz and other medications such as ciprofloxacin, fluoxetine, sertraline, fluconazole, cyclosporine, tacrolimus, esomeprazole, omeprazole, etc.
