Product Details

Zymar Eye Drops (Gatifloxacin) is a prescription medication that is used to treat bacterial eye infections. It will not work for other types of eye infections. Zymar drops is a quinolone antibiotic. This medication works by killing the bacteria that causes the infection.

Side Effects and Precautions

The serious side effects may include Persistent eye redness and swelling of the eye or eyelid. The common side effects may include:
• Bad taste in mouth;
• Blurred vision;
• Eye irritation/pain/dryness/redness;
• Headache;
• Watery eyes

You should not use Zymar if you are allergic to Gatifloxacin or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical conditions and about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. After you apply this medication, your vision may become temporarily blurred. You should drive or do any acitivity that requires a clear vision until you can perform such activities safely. This medication should only be used during pregnancy until it is clearly needed. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk.
