Product Details

Procoralan (Ivabradine) is used in adults with chronic heart failure, to help lower the frequency of hospitalization from worsening symptoms. It is also used to treat the symptom so of long-term stable angina in adults with coronary heart disease who have a normal heart rhythm. Procoralan is also used in children over the age of 6 months old who have stable heart failure caused by an enlarged heart. Procoralan is not for use if you already have heart failure symptoms that recently got worse before starting this medication. Procoralan is a hyperpolarization-activated cyclic-nucleotide-gated (HCN) channel blocker, which basically means that it targets your heart’s electrical activity in order to slow the heart rate and lessen the strain and workload on your heart.

Common side effects of Procoralan include slow or irregular heartbeats, high blood pressure, and your eyes more sensitive to light. Contact your doctor if you notice more serious side effects including fast or pounding heartbeats, shortness of breath, or sudden dizziness, severe headache, blurred vision, or pounding in your neck or ears, or chest tightness.

You should not use Procoralan if you are allergic to Ivabradine, or if you have a serious heart condition, heart failure symptoms that recently got worse, very low blood pressure, a slow resting heart rate, severe liver disease, or if you depend on a pacemaker to control your heart rate. Some medications may cause unwanted or dangerous effects when used with Procoralan. Tell your doctor about any medications, vitamins, or herbal supplements you are currently using or have recently used. You should not breastfeed while using this medication. Tell your doctor fi you are pregnant or become pregnant, as this medication may harm the unborn baby. Use effective birth control while taking Procoralan.
