Atogepant belongs to the class of medication called CGRP Receptor Antagonists, Antimigraine Agents. CGRP is a protein in the brain and nervous system that contribute to the pain, inflammation, and vasodilation associated with migraine attacks. Qulipta prevents migraine attacks by blocking Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) from attaching to the CGRP receptors.
