The active ingredient in Vastarel is Trimetazidine. Trimetazidine belongs to a class of drugs called anti-ischemic (antianginal) metabolic agents. Trimetazidine works by prevents decreasing the intracellular ATP levels, thereby ensuring the proper functioning of ionic pumps and transmembrane sodium-potassium flow whilst maintaining cellular homeostasis.
