Alomide Information

Alomide Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com offers the brand Alomide eye drops from Canada by Novartis and Turkey by Alcon. The generic version is not available. Our customers may also purchase other allergy medications such as Veramyst.

Dosage

Alomide eye drops are available in the strength of 0.1%/10 ml and 0.1%/5 ml.

Usage

Alomide (Lodoxamine) is a prescription drug used to treat non-infectious allergic conjunctivitis such as vernal conjunctivitis, giant papillary conjunctivitis, and allergic-atopic conjunctivitis. Alomide eye drops prevent itching of the eyes that can occur with these conditions. Lodoxamide is a mast cell stabilizer. It works by blocking histamine and leukotriene that cause allergic reactions. The dose for adults and children greater than two years of age is one to two drops in each affected eye four times daily for up to three months.

Warnings and Interactions

You should not use Alomide if you are allergic to Lodoxamide or if you have any other allergies. Before you start using Alomide eye drops, talk to your doctor about your medical history. Wash your hands, tilt your head back and gently pull your lower lid down. Squeeze out one or two drops into each eye while looking up toward your forehead. Close your eyes gently for a few moments. The dropper is sterile; do not touch the dropper to any surface, including your eyes or hands. If you use contact lenses, remove the lenses to instill Alomide drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting it. It could cause an eye infection if it becomes contaminated. Do not use any other eye medication unless they are prescribed by your doctor. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
