Product Details

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Atarax include dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, dry mouth, and headache. The serious side effects may include:

• Confusion
• Restless muscle movements in your eyes, tongue, jaw, or neck
• Seizures
• Tremors

You should not take Atarax if you are allergic to hydroxyzine or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you currently take including OTC and herbal medications. Do not drink alcohol while on this medication, as it may increase the occurrence of unwanted side effects. Women who are pregnant should not take this medication because it can harm an unborn baby.
