Periactin Details (Brand and Generic) offers the generic Periactin and other allergy medications at huge savings. We currently offer the generic Periactin tablets from India also called Ciplactin manufactured by Cipla and the Cyproheptadine syrup from Canada by a different manufacturer. The brand Periactin is not available.


The generic Cyproheptadine syrup is available in the strength of 2 mg/5 ml/250 ml and the tablet is available in the strength of 4 mg.


Periactin (Cyproheptadine) is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes or nose, sneezing, hives, and itching. Cyproheptadine works by blocking the histamine produced by your body during an allergic reaction. This medication is also used to treat skin conditions like eczema and reactions to insect bites. blocks serotonin in your body.

• Dark coloured urine;
• Easy bruising or bleeding;
• Fast or pounding heartbeats;

• Ringing in the ears;
• Seizure;
• Urinating less than usual or not at all

You should not use Periactin if you are allergic to Cyproheptadine or if you:

• Have used an MAO (monoamine oxidase) inhibitor in the last 14 days

• Heart disease;
• High blood pressure

This medication may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful when you drive or do any activity that requires you to be alert. Drinking alcohol can increase some of the side effects of this medication. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. This medication can make you drowsy or dizzy. You should avoid medications that can make you even more drowsy; examples are alcohol, marijuana (cannabis), opioid pain medicines, anxiety and sleep medications, treatment for seizures and muscle relaxer. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing any tasks that requires alertness until you know how your body reacts to this medication. There may be a drug interaction between Cyproheptadine and other medications. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant. Do not use this medication while you are breast-feeding a baby. Do not give this medication to a child younger than 4 years old.
