Usage

Tri-Estarylla (Norgestimate/Ethinyl Estradiol) is a prescription oral contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy among women of reproductive age. It is a combined contraceptive, and the active ingredient in Tri-Estarylla is Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol. Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol belong to a class of medications called hormonal contraceptives. Norgestimate is a progestin, and Ethinyl Estradiol is an estrogen. It works by stopping ovulation and altering the cervical mucus and the uterus lining to prevent sperm from getting into the uterus and getting to the egg, thus preventing pregnancy.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Tri-Estarylla are nausea, vomiting, headache, breast pain, bloating, irregular menstrual flow, and unintended weight gain.

Stop using Tri-Estarylla and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:

Take the pills in the order shown on the packaging. After finishing the first 28 tablets, start a new pack the following day. If you miss an active tablet during weeks 1, 2, or 3, take the tablet as soon as you remember. If you miss 2 active tablets in a row during week 1 or week 2, take the 2 tablets the day you remember and 2 tablets the next day, then continue with your regular dose. If you miss 2 active tablets in a row during week 3 or miss 3 or more active tablets in a row, you should throw away the rest of the pack and start a new pack that same day. Use a backup method of birth control if you have sex within 7 days after missing a dose. If you miss any reminder tablets during week 4, throw away the missed pill and continue your normal dosing schedule. Tri-Estarylla is a hormonal contraceptive, and it does not protect you or your partner from sexually transmitted diseases like HIV or gonorrhea. Avoid smoking while using this drug. Smoking increases the risk of cardiovascular problems, especially in women over 35.

Before you start using Tri-Estarylla, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have the following:
• Bleeding disorder;
• Depression or other psychiatry illness;
• Kidney problems;
• Liver problems;
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding a child;
• Thyroid problem;
• Unexplained vaginal bleeding
