It may also be used to relieve symptoms of hay fever, and the common cold. Benadryl can also be used to treat and prevent nausea, vomiting and dizziness caused by motion sickness. Diphenhydramine may also be used to help you relax and fall asleep. This medication works by blocking histamines which are responsible for symptoms like sneezing, watery eyes and runny nose.
