Tavegyl Information

Tavegyl Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Tavegyl OTC from Turkey manufactured by Novartis. There is no generic version available. Our customers may also purchase other allergy medications such as Allegra.

Dosage

The brand Tavegyl is available in the strength of 1 mg tablets.

Usage

Tavegyl (Clemastine Fumarate) is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. This medication works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms. Tavegyl is used to treat sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, itching, and other cold or allergy symptoms. Use Tavegyl exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. This medicine is usually taken only for a short time until your symptoms clear up. Do not take for longer than 7 days in a row. Keep using the medication as directed and tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Tavegyl are drowsiness, dizziness, headache, blurred vision, dry mouth, nose and throat, decreased coordination, feeling restless or excited (especially in children).

Stop using Tavegyl and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Changes in vision;
• Difficulty breathing or swallowing;
• Difficulty urinating;
• Fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat;
• Hives;
• Itching;
• Rash

Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 7 days of treatment, or if you have a fever with a headache or skin rash.

To make sure Tavegyl is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have or have ever had asthma or lung disease; glaucoma; ulcers; difficulty urinating (due to an enlarged prostate gland); blockage in the passage between the stomach and intestine; blockage in the bladder; heart disease; high blood pressure; seizures; or an overactive thyroid gland. Be sure to mention any of the following: other medications for colds, hay fever, or allergies; medications for depression or seizures; muscle relaxants; narcotic medications for pain; sedatives; sleeping pills; and tranquilizers. Your doctor may tell you not to take Tavegyl if you are taking one of these medications or may need to change the doses of your medications or monitor you carefully for side effects.
